What Is Permanent Holiday Lighting?
Permanent holiday lighting replaces the annual ritual of stringing, hanging, and storing seasonal lights with a system that is professionally installed once and stays on your home year-round — invisible during the day, radiant at night.
Technicolor’s RGBW LED lights are mounted in a custom-fabricated aluminum light channel color-matched to your home’s fascia and soffit, sitting flush against your roofline in an exact profile bent to fit your home. By day it looks like part of the architecture. After dark, it transforms your home with 16 million color options, animated programs, and the ability to change the entire look of your house in seconds from your phone.
The Technicolor Lighting System
Technicolor makes the brightest, warmest RGBW LED permanent lights in the industry. Each residential bulb contains 3 LEDs powered at 12V for vibrant, true-color output. The RGBW configuration adds a dedicated warm white LED alongside red, green, and blue — producing a warm white glow that looks exactly like traditional holiday lighting, not the cold blue-white of standard RGB systems.
The control box — typically mounted in your garage near your Wi-Fi router — connects to your network and gives you full control from the Technicolor app on iOS or Android. Brightness is dimmable from 1–100%, and every individual bulb is independently addressable.
Custom-Fabricated Aluminum Light Channel
What sets Technicolor apart is the light channel. Competitors import generic extruded aluminum track that fades, cracks, and discolors in Phoenix’s UV and heat. Technicolor manufactures every channel in-house from Mastic Rain Gutter Coil, custom-bent to the exact profile of your fascia.
Planet Geek measures your roofline precisely, the channel is fabricated to match your paint color, and it is installed so the lights are visible from every angle while the channel itself disappears into the architecture. It holds true to color indefinitely — no fading, chipping, or discoloring. Invisible by day. Radiant by night.
Control Your Lights From Anywhere in the World
Choose from hundreds of pre-set programs — Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Independence Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, game-day team colors — or build your own static or animated displays from 16 million colors with chase, flow, fade, flash, and fireworks effects. Set sunset timers, manage multiple properties from one device.
Whether you’re home in Chandler or on vacation in Hawaii, your Phoenix home can be lit for the season without you touching a single strand of lights.
The System Earns Its Value Every Month
Permanent lighting is not just for Christmas. Your Technicolor system transforms your home for every moment of the year.
Christmas & Hanukkah
One tap on in December, off on January 2nd — without ever going outside.
Halloween
Orange and purple with animated effects for the whole block.
Fourth of July
Red, white, and blue through the holiday weekend.
Game Day
Your team’s colors every time they play.
Awareness & Celebrations
Pink for breast cancer awareness, birthday colors, Easter pastels.
Every Other Night
Warm white accent lighting that makes your home look like a luxury property.
Security & Accent Lighting Year-Round
Beyond holiday displays, your Technicolor system serves as always-on accent and perimeter security lighting. A steady warm white glow along your roofline every night increases curb appeal dramatically while deterring unwanted visitors — a benefit that compounds every night of the year.
For homes with Planet Geek’s Alarm.com security system, the lighting can be programmed to flash specific colors when an alarm triggers, making your property instantly identifiable to emergency responders and neighbors.
5-Year Product Warranty
Technicolor backs every system with a 5-year product warranty on hardware. The RGBW LED bulbs are rated for 5,000 hours of life — roughly 30 years of operation at 4 hours a day. These are not the fragile consumer-grade lights from the hardware store; they are commercial-quality LEDs engineered for outdoor exposure, UV resistance, and the extreme heat cycles of a Phoenix summer.
Planet Geek stands behind every installation with a lifetime labor warranty. If something needs attention, we come back and make it right.

Permanent Lighting Questions, Answered
How much does permanent holiday lighting cost in Phoenix?
Pricing depends on the linear feet of roofline, the number of peaks and corners, and whether you add accent areas like columns or a casita. Every system is quoted after a free on-site measurement so you get an exact number, not a range.
Can you see the lights during the day?
No. The aluminum channel is custom-bent to your fascia profile and color-matched to your paint, so it reads as part of the trim. The lights sit inside the channel and are only visible after dark.
Will the lights and channel survive Phoenix heat and sun?
Yes. Technicolor fabricates the channel from Mastic Rain Gutter Coil that holds its color indefinitely, and the commercial-grade RGBW LEDs are rated for UV exposure and extreme heat cycles, backed by a 5-year product warranty.
Can I control the lights from my phone?
Yes. The Technicolor app on iOS or Android gives you hundreds of pre-set programs, 16 million colors, animation effects, sunset timers, and control of multiple properties from one device — from anywhere in the world.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installations are completed in a single day, including channel mounting, power routing, control box setup, Wi-Fi connection, and a full app walkthrough.
Do you install permanent lighting for businesses?
Yes. Commercial Technicolor systems use 6 LEDs per light for higher output on large facades and are installed on storefronts, restaurants, hotels, offices, HOA common areas, and venues across the Phoenix metro.
